Nollywood actor Rotimi Salami has dismissed long-standing rumours linking him romantically with late actress Allwell Ademola, describing the claims as unfounded.
Speaking during an interview with Oyinmomo TV, Salami said he never paid attention to industry gossip and only became aware of the speculation after Ademola personally contacted him to discuss what people were saying.
According to the actor, he informed her that he had not heard the rumours and generally avoids engaging with such conversations.
Salami explained that public speculation has never influenced his relationships with colleagues in the movie industry, noting that he prefers to concentrate on his career rather than be distracted by rumours.
The actor also stressed the importance of his marriage, stating that his wife remains the most important person in his life. He added that he would distance himself from any friendship or professional relationship if his wife expressed discomfort with it.
“I told her I had not heard the rumours because I do not pay attention to such things. If my wife ever feels uncomfortable with any relationship, I would step back because she is the person I am accountable to,” he said.
Reflecting on Ademola’s passing, Salami described her death as shocking and painful to those who knew her. The actress reportedly died in December 2025 at the age of 49 after suffering cardiac arrest at her residence.
He recalled that Ademola had been living with asthma and was known for taking her health seriously, often carrying her inhaler and encouraging others to prioritize their well-being.
Salami said he believed she did her best to manage her condition and described her passing as a deeply saddening loss to the industry and those close to her.
