U.S. President Donald Trump has warned that the United States could launch additional military strikes against Iran, declaring that Washington’s campaign against Tehran is far from over.
Speaking during a meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun at the White House on Tuesday, Trump identified Pickaxe Mountain, a deeply buried site near Natanz believed by Western intelligence agencies to be linked to Iran’s nuclear programme, as a potential target for future military action.
According to Trump, the U.S. military could strike the location in the coming days, promising a forceful response.
“We’ll be hitting that area pretty soon, and very heavily,” the U.S. president said.
Trump acknowledged that presidents rarely disclose potential military targets in advance but argued that Iran would be unable to prevent any planned operation.
“There’s not a thing they can do about it,” he added.
The comments come amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran following renewed hostilities in the Middle East.
Trump also indicated that the United States has no immediate plans to end its military operations against Iran, arguing that the damage already inflicted on the country’s military and nuclear infrastructure would take decades to reverse.
“If we left right now, it would take Iran 20 or 25 years to rebuild… We’re not finished at all, and we’re not leaving right now,” he said.
His remarks signal that the United States remains prepared to continue military operations against sites it believes are connected to Iran’s nuclear activities.
The warning comes as Iran reportedly intensified attacks across parts of the Middle East on Tuesday, with Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain said to be among the countries affected.
The renewed exchange of hostilities has raised concerns over regional stability, the security of U.S. allies, and the potential impact of the conflict on global energy markets.
Pickaxe Mountain, located near Iran’s principal nuclear facilities around Natanz, has drawn increased attention from Western intelligence agencies due to its heavily fortified underground structure, making it difficult to target with conventional military strikes.
