The lawmaker representing Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Donland Ojogo, has reportedly escaped serious injury after a road accident involving his convoy on Saturday.
The accident occurred along the Ore–Ondo Road when a commercial bus reportedly attempted to overtake one of the lawmaker’s vehicles and collided with an oncoming vehicle.
Ojogo was said to be travelling to Arogbo in Ese-Odo Local Government Area for a political engagement when the incident occurred.
Although the lawmaker escaped unhurt, some members of his entourage reportedly sustained injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Reacting to the incident, Ojogo thanked God for protecting him and his team, saying the situation could have resulted in a more serious tragedy.
He also blamed the commercial bus driver, accusing him of reckless driving and impatience on the highway.
Ojogo said divine intervention prevented the accident from becoming fatal.
Meanwhile, those injured in the crash are reportedly receiving medical attention at a nearby hospital.
