Unknown Gvnmen Abduct Catholic Priest in Benue.

The Nigeria Police force has Launched an investigation over the abduction Rev Fr. John Otache, the parish priest of St. Margaret Catholic Church in the Ajegbe-Awume area of Ohimini Local Government Area, Benue State.

The Catholic Diocese of Otukpo confirmed the incident in a statement signed by its chancellor, Joseph Itodo, who said the priest was abducted on October 13, 2026.

According to Itodo, Otache was returning home from Otukpo when he encountered the gvnmen along the Otobi Amejo-Ajegbe Road in Ohimini LGA.

The diocese called on priests, religious members, the laity and other well-meaning individuals to pray for the priest’s safe and speedy release.

Meanwhile, the Benue State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the abduction.
