SNOW TV Editorial Assessment
Unusual Praise 2026 stands out as one of the most significant Catholic worship events on the Nigerian calendar. What began in 2011 as a parish harvest celebration at the Catholic Church of Divine Mercy, Lekki, has matured into the largest Catholic praise night in Africa, now expanding to two major centres: Onitsha on 6 November and Lagos on 11 December. Its combination of high-profile gospel performances, deep worship, and practical community programmes (notably the Unusual Entrepreneur initiative) gives it both spiritual depth and social relevance.

Local Impact
In Lagos, the event is expected to draw thousands of young people into a positive, faith-centred environment while stimulating temporary economic activity around transportation, food vendors, and hospitality near TBS. In Onitsha, hosting the event at the Cathedral Basilica reinforces the city’s place as a key spiritual hub in the South-East.

Beyond the night itself, Unusual Praise continues to function as a platform for evangelisation, youth engagement, and modest community empowerment. This is more than another concert date — it is a major cultural and spiritual moment with clear local resonance in Lagos and Onitsha.
