According to a statement issued by Mallam Olawale Rasheed, spokesperson to the state coordinator, Governor Ademola Adeleke, the campaign council is scheduled to be inaugurated on Thursday, October 22, 2026.

The inauguration will take place at the Oasis Event Centre in Osogbo, Osun State, beginning at 12 noon.

In a statement announcing the development, Adeleke said the council would comprise a broad range of political leaders and officeholders drawn from different political parties.

The composition of the council reflects an effort to bring together experienced politicians, elected representatives, and grassroots mobilizers to coordinate the campaign’s activities across the state.

SNOW TV NEWS EDITORIAL ASSESSMENT

The composition of Tinubu’s Osun campaign council highlights the importance of political alliances and grassroots mobilization in Nigeria’s increasingly competitive electoral environment. By bringing together prominent APC figures and politicians associated with Accord and the PDP, the council appears designed to draw support from different political constituencies.

However, a long list of political heavyweights does not automatically translate into electoral success. The council’s effectiveness will depend on its ability to manage competing interests, maintain internal cohesion, and convert political influence into genuine voter engagement.

The inclusion of established figures such as Bisi Akande, Gboyega Oyetola, and Iyiola Omisore could strengthen the campaign’s organizational capacity. Nevertheless, the leadership must ensure that the council operates as a coordinated team rather than a collection of influential individuals.

Ultimately, the success of the campaign will depend not only on political endorsements and mobilization but also on how convincingly its message addresses the concerns of Osun residents. Voters will be looking for clear positions on employment, infrastructure, education, economic hardship, and other issues affecting their daily lives.

As the council prepares for its inauguration, its immediate challenge will be to transform its broad political representation into an effective, disciplined, and issue-focused campaign structure. The real measure of its strength will emerge from its ability to connect with voters and earn their confidence.
