Broda Shaggi Reveals He Was Hit by a Stray Bullet

BY SNOW TV NEWS DESK
Nigerian comedian and skit maker Samuel Animashaun Perry, better known as Broda Shaggi, has disclosed that he was struck by a stray bullet in an incident that left him injured and kept him out of the public eye for several months.

The popular entertainer shared details of the traumatic experience in a video posted on social media. The shooting occurred on March 9, 2026, while he was filming a comedy skit near the Sango-Ota Bridge area of Ogun State.

After the incident, Shaggi was first treated at a private hospital in Alakuko, Lagos, before being transferred to another medical facility in Ikeja.

His prolonged absence from social media had sparked concern among fans and industry colleagues. In the video, he described the moment he was hit: “We were done shooting and got stuck in traffic. Suddenly, I heard a loud bang, and everywhere went silent. I could see people talking, but I couldn’t hear anything. Then I touched my hip and saw blood. That was when I realized I had been hit by a stray bullet.”

In August, the comedian had briefly addressed his disappearance in a message on his WhatsApp channel, thanking supporters for their patience while noting that he could not yet share full details.

Broda Shaggi is one of Nigeria’s most recognizable online comedians, known for his signature comic character, viral skits, and roles in Nollywood productions. He won the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Award for Best Actor in a Comedy, Movie, or TV Series in both 2022 and 2023.

SNOW TV NEWS EDITORIAL ASSESSMENT
This revelation from Broda Shaggi is a sobering reminder of the everyday risks ordinary Nigerians face amid rising insecurity, even in supposedly routine settings like traffic after a film shoot. While the comedian’s recovery and return to the spotlight are welcome, the incident underscores the urgent need for stronger security measures in high-traffic corridors and greater accountability when stray bullets claim or injure innocent lives.

Public figures opening up about such experiences help humanize the statistics and keep pressure on authorities to act.
