I’m Already a Naira Billionaire, Soon to Become a Dollar Billionaire. Mr. Eazi says

SNOW TV NEWS DESK
Nigerian singer and entrepreneur Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr. Eazi, has expressed confidence that he could soon attain billionaire status in US dollars while disclosing that he is already a billionaire in Nigerian naira.

The Afrobeats star made the remarks during an interview with Capital XTRA, where he was asked about his financial ambitions and whether he was on course to become a billionaire in dollars.

Responding humorously, Mr. Eazi said he had already crossed the billionaire threshold in naira and other African currencies, adding that achieving the same milestone in US dollars could happen sooner than expected.

“US dollars, you know, soon come. I’m not really looking for that; that’s not the target. But I see it; it’s coming. Anytime now,” he said.

Despite his optimism about building greater wealth, the singer stressed that becoming a dollar billionaire was not his primary objective. Instead, he said he was more interested in maintaining creative independence and managing his business interests on his own terms.

Beyond music, Mr. Eazi has established himself as an entrepreneur with interests spanning technology, ticketing, and gaming. His business activities have expanded his profile beyond the entertainment industry, positioning him among Nigerian artists pursuing opportunities in multiple sectors.

The singer has also attracted comparisons with American rap mogul Jay-Z, who has successfully combined a music career with investments and other commercial ventures.

Mr Eazi appeared receptive to the comparison, drawing attention to the similarities between their music and business journeys. He also made a lighthearted reference to his marriage to actress Temi Otedola.

His comments reflect the growing interest in the business ventures of African entertainers, many of whom are increasingly exploring investments, partnerships, and entrepreneurship alongside their music careers.

Although Mr Eazi did not disclose his net worth or provide financial details to substantiate his billionaire status, his remarks highlighted his confidence in the continued growth of his business interests.

SNOW TV NEWS EDITORIAL ANALYSIS
Mr Eazi’s confidence about becoming a US dollar billionaire underscores a broader shift in the African entertainment industry, where musicians are increasingly looking beyond record sales, streaming revenue, and concert performances to build lasting business ventures.

For many artists, commercial success now involves investing in technology, entertainment infrastructure, consumer businesses, and other sectors capable of generating income beyond music.

This approach can help entertainers diversify their earnings, reduce dependence on the unpredictable nature of the music industry, and create opportunities that extend beyond their performing careers.

Mr. Eazi’s comments nevertheless provide an opportunity to examine the importance of financial planning, strategic investment, and business sustainability in an industry where fame does not always translate into lasting wealth.

Our editorial position is that African entertainers should be encouraged to turn their creative success into sustainable businesses, create jobs, and invest in ventures that contribute to economic growth. Ultimately, the most meaningful measure of entrepreneurial achievement is not simply the pursuit of billionaire status but the ability to build transparent, resilient businesses that create lasting value.
