Popular Nigerian singer Chidinma Ekile has revealed that she once travelled abroad and attempted to secure permanent residency because she did not want to return to Nigeria. Speaking at a recent event organized by Eezee Conceptz, the singer disclosed that her plans failed, prompting her eventual return to the country.

Chidinma explained that while she was abroad, the CEO of Eezee Conceptz remained the only person consistently calling and encouraging her from Nigeria. Following her return, she approached him for a gospel music contract, explaining that her decision to leave secular music was driven by her desire to build a closer relationship with God rather than an initial ambition to become a gospel singer.

According to her, the contract offered was so favorable that her lawyer described it as resembling charity. Her revelation provides insight into the personal journey behind her transition from mainstream music to gospel.
