Barcelona Captain Raphinha Set to Sign New Contract Until 2030

SNOW TV NEWS DESK
Barcelona have confirmed that club captain and Brazilian international Raphinha is set to extend his contract with the Spanish champions until June 2030, rewarding the forward for his impressive performances and growing influence at the club.

In an official statement released on Thursday, November 5, the Catalan giants announced that the 29-year-old would put pen to paper on the new agreement during a ceremony at the club’s presidential offices.

The signing was scheduled for 12:00 pm Central European Time at the office of club president Joan Laporta, after which Raphinha was expected to address the media.

The new deal will keep the Brazilian at Camp Nou for at least another three and a half seasons, further strengthening Barcelona’s commitment to a player who has become increasingly important to the team’s ambitions.

Raphinha’s contract extension comes on the back of an outstanding start to the 2026/27 campaign. Since being appointed first-team captain, the forward has continued to demonstrate his importance through his goals, creativity, and leadership on the pitch.

The Brazilian has already scored 19 goals this season, including 15 in La Liga and four in the UEFA Champions League, establishing himself as one of Barcelona’s most productive attacking players.

His consistency in front of goal, combined with his ability to influence matches in crucial moments, has strengthened his position within the squad and made him an important figure in the club’s long-term plans.

Raphinha joined Barcelona from English Premier League side Leeds United in July 2022 in a deal initially worth €58 million (£49 million), with the transfer fee potentially rising to €67 million (£58 million) through performance-related add-ons.

Since his arrival, he has worked his way into a prominent role at the club, evolving from an attacking option into one of the team’s key leaders.

The decision to extend his contract until 2030 represents a significant show of confidence from Barcelona, particularly as the club continues building a squad capable of competing for domestic and European honors.

For Raphinha, the new agreement offers an opportunity to continue building his legacy in Spanish football while leading Barcelona into another important chapter of its history.
