A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has granted Nollywood actress Doris Ogala bail in the sum of N30 million following her arrest over alleged cyberstalking and other offenses connected to Pastor Chris Okafor.
Justice Akintayo Aluko granted the bail on Friday, November 6, 2026, while imposing a series of conditions the actress must meet before regaining her freedom.
Under the ruling, Ogala is required to provide two sureties, each in the sum of N30 million. One of the sureties must either own a property in Lagos State, with verifiable and certified registration documents from the Land Registry, or be a prominent national officer of her political party or a person of established reputation.
The judge further stipulated that both sureties must be financially capable, reside within the court’s jurisdiction, and undergo verification by the court registrar. They must also submit tax clearance certificates covering the last three years, alongside two recent passport photographs each.
As part of the conditions, Ogala must surrender her international passport to the court registrar. She has also been restrained from making electronic publications that could intimidate, harass, or otherwise interfere with any of the prosecution witnesses.
The judge expressed displeasure over the actress’s conduct during the October 28 proceedings, which he said disrupted the court’s sitting. However, he noted that Ogala had apologized for her behavior.
Justice Aluko subsequently directed that she should be released from custody immediately once all the bail conditions have been fulfilled.
Earlier during Friday’s proceedings, Ogala was absent from court. Her lawyer informed the judge that she was receiving medical treatment at the General Hospital in Ajegunle following a gynaecological surgery that reportedly resulted in bleeding.
The bail ruling represents a significant development in the ongoing legal dispute involving the actress and Pastor Chris Okafor. However, the conditions imposed by the court mean that her release will depend on her ability to meet the financial and other requirements.
Ogala’s case remains before the court, and the allegations against her are yet to be determined through trial.
