‘Even My Solar Is ‘Off’—Cute Abiola Slams Tinubu Government Over Persistent Power Outages and Hardship

SNOW TV NEWS DESK
Nigerian comedian and content creator The Cute Abiola has expressed frustration over Nigeria’s worsening electricity situation, taking a swipe at President Bola Tinubu and calling on the Federal Government to urgently address the persistent power outages affecting households across the country.

The comedian voiced his concerns in a video shared on social media, where he appealed directly to the president, saying that even his solar power system had stopped supplying electricity.

In the video, Cute Abiola appeared visibly frustrated as he complained about the heat and the difficulties Nigerians continue to endure because of unreliable electricity.

“President Tinubu, my solar is off. Please, for God’s sake, help us. My solar is off right now. Please, everywhere is hot. The suffering is too much. Please, there’s no light. Abeg,” he said.

Beyond complaining about the lack of electricity, the entertainer also criticized what he appeared to view as the government’s growing focus on Tinubu’s political future and possible re-election, while ordinary Nigerians continue to grapple with economic difficulties and basic infrastructure challenges.

He ended his message with a sarcastic comment that captured his frustration with the situation: “Buy solar, buy solar. Solar sef dey off.”

His remarks have drawn attention to the growing frustration surrounding Nigeria’s electricity crisis, particularly as many households and businesses have increasingly turned to alternative power sources such as solar systems and generators to cope with unreliable grid supply.

For many Nigerians, solar energy has become an important alternative to expensive fuel-powered generators. However, solar systems also depend on adequate sunlight, functioning equipment, and sufficient battery storage, meaning they are not always a complete solution to the country’s electricity challenges.

Cute Abiola’s complaint reflects a wider concern among citizens who are increasingly questioning how long households and businesses must continue spending extra money to provide their own electricity.

With the rising cost of living already putting pressure on household budgets, an unreliable power supply adds another layer of hardship for families and business owners.

Although the comedian’s video was delivered with humor and sarcasm, the underlying message points to a serious national concern: Nigerians want reliable electricity and practical solutions to the country’s persistent power problems, rather than having to constantly find ways to survive without it.
