American rapper Nicki Minaj has made it clear that her support for President Donald Trump remains unchanged despite a major political setback for Republicans in the latest US midterm elections, which saw Democrats regain control of both chambers of Congress.
Taking to X on Wednesday night, the award-winning rapper shared a lengthy 13-point message defending Trump and praising several prominent figures associated with his administration.
“Trump is STILL your PRESIDENT,” Minaj declared, seemingly responding to critics who have questioned her political allegiance following the Democrats’ impressive electoral performance.
In the same series of posts, she added, “The QUEEN is STILL your OBSESSION,” making a reference to herself, before declaring that “Jesus is STILL LORD.” She also praised Vice President JD Vance for what she described as his great insight.
Minaj went on to congratulate Florida Governor-elect Byron Donalds and Republican Representative Anna Paulina Luna. However, Luna’s closely contested election victory had not been officially called by the Associated Press at the time of the report.
The rapper also acknowledged her loyal fanbase, popularly known as the Barbz, while urging Republicans to wake up, suggesting that the party needed to recognize the political realities emerging from the election results.
She accompanied her statements with a short video of herself staring directly into the camera, seemingly standing her ground amid criticism over her support for Trump and his Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement.
Minaj did not stop there. In subsequent posts, she praised billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, describing him as a trillionaire, and expressed admiration for Grok, the artificial intelligence chatbot available on X, calling it a phenomenal product.
Her comments come at a politically significant moment for Trump and the Republican Party. With Democrats reclaiming control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate, the president faces a more challenging political environment, as opposition lawmakers will have greater influence over legislation, government spending, and oversight of his administration.
Although the election results represent a major setback for Republicans, Minaj’s response suggests that the political outcome has done little to weaken her public support for Trump.
Her outspoken position also highlights how celebrity endorsements can become part of America’s increasingly polarized political conversation, where public figures are often scrutinized not just for their opinions but also for the political movements they choose to support.
For Minaj, however, the message appears straightforward: regardless of the election outcome or the criticism directed at her, she is not backing away from her support for Trump.
