
The All Progressives Congress (APC) Lagos State chapter has unveiled the names of candidates selected to represent the party in the 2027 House of Assembly and House of Representatives elections.
The list, released in a public notice on Monday and signed by Lagos APC Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, followed the completion of the party’s primary elections.
According to reports, the party announced 24 candidates for the House of Representatives and 40 candidates for the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Among the notable names for the House of Representatives are the current Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, who secured the Agege Federal Constituency ticket; James Abiodun Faleke for Ikeja Federal Constituency; and Babajimi Benson for Ikorodu Federal Constituency.
In Alimosho Federal Constituency, Olabisi Adebanjo emerged as the APC candidate, becoming the only female among the party’s 24 House of Representatives candidates.
House of Assembly Candidates
For the Lagos State House of Assembly, prominent figures on the list include incumbent Deputy Speaker, Mojisola Meranda, who clinched the Apapa Constituency I ticket.
Barakat Bakare-Odunuga won the Surulere I ticket after defeating incumbent lawmaker, Desmond Elliott.
Also emerging victorious was Damilola Ayinde-Marshall, daughter of popular Fuji musician, King Ayinde Wasiu, who secured the Surulere II ticket.
Other successful aspirants include Saheed Bankole for Eti-Osa I, Gbolahan Yishawu for Eti-Osa II, Oladipo Olayinka Ajomale for Oshodi-Isolo I, and Mayowa Alakija for Oshodi-Isolo II.
In Ikorodu, Toyin Gafar and Moshood Aro won the tickets for Ikorodu I and II respectively, while Orekoya Abiodun and Moruf Alli-Balogun emerged for Somolu I and II.
Temitope Adewale and Rasheed Lanre Makinde secured the Ifako-Ijaiye I and II tickets, while Oluwaseun Adebisi Ege and Suraju Tijani emerged for Ojo I and II.
For Ikeja Constituencies I and II, Adedamola Kasumu and Adeseyi Lawal were declared winners.
Saad Olumoh clinched the Ajeromi-Ifelodun I ticket, while Sabur Akanbi Oluwa secured the Ajeromi-Ifelodun II slot.
In Lagos Island, Lara Olumegbon-Lawal emerged for Constituency I, while Yusuf Nurudeen Abiodun won the Lagos Island II ticket.
Olatunji Lukmon Jimoh-Orelope and Joseph Kehinde also secured the APC tickets for Alimosho I and II respectively.
Meanwhile, the party’s Appeals Committee constituted to address disputes arising from the primaries was, as of press time, still reviewing several petitions submitted by aggrieved aspirants.
