Veteran Nigerian actor, Abdul Salam Taofeek, popularly known as Tioroju Mondusi, has shared what he described as the most painful experience of his life, revealing details of an alleged betrayal involving his late wife.
Speaking during an interview on the African A-List podcast, the actor was asked whether there was anyone who had deeply hurt him and whom he had struggled to forgive. In response, Mondusi said the most devastating experience he ever endured came from his wife, who has since passed away.
According to the actor, the incident occurred about five years ago when he returned from a movie location and discovered that his wife, who was then nine months pregnant with their fifth child, was nowhere to be found. He said repeated attempts to contact her proved unsuccessful until two days later, when she finally answered her phone but refused to disclose her whereabouts.
Mondusi claimed that he later visited his mother-in-law’s residence to lodge a complaint and was shocked to discover photographs suggesting that his wife had held an introduction ceremony with another man, whom he alleged was already married and had four children.
The actor said the discovery led to a confrontation, during which his wife allegedly questioned whether he was truly the father of the child she was carrying.
He further alleged that after she gave birth, she sought permission to hold the child’s naming ceremony at his residence despite previously claiming the baby was not his. Angered by the situation, Mondusi said he reported the matter to authorities, leading to the arrest of his wife, the man involved, and another individual who had attempted to mediate.
According to the veteran actor, his refusal to host the naming ceremony eventually prompted his wife to file for the dissolution of their marriage in court.
Mondusi also alleged that during the court proceedings, his wife admitted that two of the children he had been raising were not biologically his and claimed she had maintained a long-term relationship with the other man.
The actor further revealed that his late wife passed away last year, alleging that she suffered from depression after the man she left him for abandoned her and returned to his own family.
Despite the emotional weight of the experience, Mondusi said the incident remains the most painful chapter of his life and one he has never forgotten.
