The daughters of late Nollywood veteran Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, have announced their intention to enter Nigeria’s film industry as a way of preserving their father’s enduring legacy.
In a statement released on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Lima Olamide Taiwo, speaking on behalf of the family, and her sister Shakira Taiwo (known as Kira Ogogo) confirmed their decision to pursue careers in entertainment. Lima noted that audiences will soon encounter elements of their late father’s influence through Kira’s work.
She expressed deep gratitude to Nigerians, relatives, friends, and members of the entertainment industry who stood by the family during their period of mourning. Special appreciation was extended to notable figures, including Honourable Tayo Ayinde, Nigeria’s First Lady, Ogun State Governor, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), and the Olu of Ilaro for their support.
“On behalf of my family and I, we want to say thank you very much to everybody who stood by us,” Lima said. “We are going to start seeing Ogogo through my sister Kira Ogogo. We are coming to the industry, and we are here to stay.”
The announcement marks a deliberate effort by the sisters to keep Ogogo’s cultural imprint alive on screen following his passing.
SNOW TV NEWS EDITORIAL ASSESSMENT
In an industry often defined by fleeting fame, the decision by Ogogo’s daughters to step into Nollywood themselves feels both personal and purposeful. Rather than simply mourning a legend, they are choosing to extend his story—proof that true legacy is not left behind but actively continued. Watch this space; Kira Ogogo may yet become one of the more meaningful new names to watch.
