In a related development, U.S. President Donald Trump issued a strong warning to Iran against retaliatory action following the strikes.
In a post on Truth Social on Sunday morning, Trump cautioned that the American military was prepared to carry out additional operations if Tehran attempted to respond militarily.
His remarks followed reports that Iranian authorities had pledged a forceful response to the attacks, which reportedly targeted senior officials during high-level meetings.
Trump stated that Iran had finalised plans “to hit very hard today,” but warned that such action would trigger further consequences, adding that “they better not do that.”
