Yoruba Nollywood stars came out in large numbers to pay their last respect to their colleague, Allwell Ademola.

Kemi Filani reported last week family of the late actress had announced her burial arrangements. The family disclosed that a Service of Songs will be held on January 8, followed closely by a Candlelight procession. The movie star would be laid to rest on January 9th at Atan Cemetery, Yaba, Lagos.

Several Nollywood stars were present at the event, including Wumi Toriola, Afeez Owo, Kunle Afod, Faithia Williams, Biola Bayo, Mr Latin, Odunlade Adekola, Jayeola Monje, Toyin Alausa, Regina Chukwu, Eniola Ajao, Yemi Solade, Saidi Balogun, Bakare Zainab, Tawa Ajisefinni, Semilore Pweety, Rotimi Salami, Fausat Balogun, Foluke Daramola, Jigan Babaoja, among many others.

It will be recalled that the actress passed away on the 27th after suffering a heart attack at her residence. The heartbreaking news was confirmed by colleagues through their social media platforms, with Damola Olatunji, Mr Latin, Faithia Williams, and Bidemi Kosoko among the first to express their grief.

In an official statement, Allwell’s family disclosed that she was 49 years old and thanked colleagues, friends, and well-wishers for the outpouring of love, prayers, and condolences. They prayed for her soul to rest in peace and said burial arrangements would be announced later.

Speaking emotionally, Rotimi said even 72 hours of uncontrollable tears could not bring her back. He admitted things were not easy but said he was learning to move forward for the sake of his family, friends, fans, and especially his children.

Biola Bayo reflected on their final moments together, describing the late actress as one of the happiest souls she had ever known and pleading for someone to wake her from what felt like a nightmare.

Regina Chukwu said she remained in disbelief and was still struggling to accept the loss, revealing that they had been planning the sequel of Aarin together.

Jamiu Azeez also shared memories of his last moments with Allwell, recalling how lively she was as they laughed, played, and enjoyed each other’s company. He described her as friendly to everyone and remembered his final words to her.

During her 40th birthday celebration some years ago, Folorunsho Adeola honoured Allwell with a moment of silence as a mark of deep respect. In a tribute on Instagram, she said Allwell meant a great deal to her, praising her kindness and good deeds. She added that although she is gone, she continues to live on through memories, prayers, and quiet reflections.

Saidi Balogun shared a photo of himself with the late actress, describing the loss as unreal. He said he wished he could turn back time but acknowledged that God knows best, adding that Allwell’s smile remains unforgettable and her presence timeless.
