The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State has suspended a serving member of the House of Representatives, a local government vice chairman, and six other party officials over allegations of anti-party conduct.
The decision was announced by the party’s State Executive Committee, which said the action was taken to preserve party discipline, unity, and stability.
Among those suspended is Ibrahim Usman Auyo, who represents the Auyo, Kafin Hausa, and Hadejia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Others affected include Auyo Local Government Vice Chairman, Ibrahim Ayama, the APC Deputy State Women Leader, Aisha Adamu Auyo, and five additional party officials.
In a statement issued by the APC State Chairman, Ahmed Garba, the party accused the suspended members of engaging in activities allegedly detrimental to the progress, cohesion, and integrity of the party.
According to the statement, the allegations stem from incidents said to have occurred in Auyo Local Government Area on May 26, 2026. The APC noted that the actions under investigation could constitute breaches of the party’s constitution, including disloyalty and anti-party behaviour.
The suspension takes immediate effect and will remain in place pending the outcome of an investigation by the party’s State Disciplinary Committee.
During the period of suspension, the affected individuals will be barred from representing the APC in any official capacity and will not be permitted to participate in party activities.
The party, however, assured that all those involved would be granted a fair hearing and the opportunity to defend themselves in line with the APC constitution and the principles of natural justice.
