Oborevwori Reshuffles Cabinet After Two Delta Commissioners Resign

Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has carried out a cabinet reshuffle following the resignation of two commissioners who stepped down to pursue political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The development was disclosed on Friday in a statement issued in Asaba by the State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu.

According to the statement, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community and Social Development, Princess Pat Ajudua, has been directed to oversee the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development.

The statement further noted that the Commissioner for Housing, Godknows Angele, will now supervise the Ministry of Youth Development with immediate effect.

Governor Oborevwori explained that the reshuffle became necessary following the resignation of the former Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development, Orode Uduaghan, and the former Commissioner for Youth Development, ThankGod Trakiriowei.

According to the governor, both former commissioners resigned to pursue elective positions in the Delta State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 elections.

Oborevwori commended the outgoing commissioners for their service to the state and wished them success in their future political pursuits.

He also stated that the new supervisory appointments take immediate effect pending further directives.
