The Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Gbenga Oyekola, has dismissed reports linking him to an alleged move by some lawmakers to impeach Governor Seyi Makinde.
Oyekola, who represents Atiba State Constituency, made the clarification in a statement shared on his verified Facebook page on Tuesday.
The lawmaker, elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stated that he was neither invited nor consulted about any meeting or plan aimed at removing the governor.
He emphasized that he would not participate in any action capable of disrupting the peace of the state.
Oyekola firmly distanced himself from the alleged plot, stressing that he had no involvement in any such discussions or arrangements.
He also reaffirmed his loyalty to Governor Makinde, pledging continued support for his administration and expressing commitment to the unity, peace, and development of Oyo State.
