Sunday Igboho Threatens Severe Consequences For Yoruba Collaborators With Fulani Groups In Kidnapping Activities

Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has issued a strong warning against Yoruba individuals allegedly working with criminal elements involved in kidnapping across the South-West region.

Speaking at the palace of the traditional ruler of Igboho in Oorelope Local Government Area of Oyo State, Igboho accused some Yoruba indigenes of aiding Fulani-linked criminal groups in the abduction of residents.

He declared that anyone found collaborating with kidnappers would face severe consequences, insisting that such actions amount to betrayal of their communities.

According to him, individuals from Igboho or any part of Yorubaland who assist criminal groups in carrying out kidnappings would be held accountable for their actions.

Meanwhile, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has called on the Federal Government to intervene and caution Igboho over his recent comments and ultimatum directed at Fulani leaders in Oyo State.

The group expressed concern that such statements could heighten tensions, trigger retaliatory actions, and threaten national cohesion.

The controversy follows Igboho’s reaction to the reported abduction of a pregnant woman and her relatives, an incident that prompted him to intensify calls for improved security in the South-West.

Defending his position, Igboho maintained that his campaign is aimed solely at combating criminality and should not be interpreted as hostility toward any ethnic group.

However, the ACF, through its National Publicity Secretary, Tukur Muhammad-Baba, described the ultimatum as unconstitutional and potentially dangerous.

He urged security agencies, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and the Federal Government to take proactive steps to prevent the situation from escalating.

Muhammad-Baba also argued that generalising criminal activities to an entire ethnic group was unfair and could deepen divisions, stressing that criminal acts committed by a few individuals should not be used to stigmatise an entire community.
