The White House has strongly rejected claims that Donald Trump was hospitalised on Saturday, describing the reports as baseless conspiracy theories.
The rebuttal came via the White House “Rapid Response 47” account on X after social media figures, including Ed Krassenstein and Mark Slapinski, speculated that the president had been taken to Walter Reed Medical Center.
Responding to the claims, the administration dismissed the rumours, stating that such narratives often emerge when the president is temporarily out of public view, and insisted that Trump remained actively engaged in his duties.
To reinforce its position, the White House shared an image of a Marine standing guard outside the Oval Office, indicating that the president was present and working.
The rumours gained traction after Trump went nearly three days without a public appearance following his April 1 address on the Iran conflict. Additionally, the White House had earlier placed a “lid” on his schedule, informing the press that no further public engagements were planned for the day.
Some commentators also circulated old footage from a hospital in Butler, Pennsylvania—linked to the failed assassination attempt on Trump in July 2024—to support the false claims.
However, the president later posted an update on the Iran situation via his Truth Social account, further countering speculation about his condition.
White House Communications Director Steven Cheung also dismissed the rumours, emphasising that the president had been working continuously from the White House throughout the Easter period.
