Afrobeats superstar Davido has praised fellow Nigerian singer Flavour for taking a different approach to his music career and business ventures.
Davido made the remarks while speaking on the Afropolitan podcast, where he discussed Flavour’s career trajectory and financial success.
According to Davido, Flavour has demonstrated that Nigerian artistes do not necessarily have to relocate or spend long periods abroad to achieve financial success.
He noted that while many Nigerian musicians are currently travelling across the United States for concerts and other opportunities, Flavour has maintained a strong presence in Nigeria.
Davido suggested that the strategy has worked well for Flavour financially, claiming that the singer is making more money than many artistes currently touring America.
The singer also encouraged entertainers to avoid blindly following industry trends, stressing that every artiste has a unique career path.
He said artistes should make independent decisions and focus on strategies that best suit their individual goals and circumstances.
Davido stated: “You don’t always have to follow what everybody else is doing. Flavour is in Nigeria making money than a lot of artistes that are touring in America.”
