Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, and his estranged wife, Annie Idibia, have sparked fresh reconciliation rumours after following each other again on Instagram.
Checks on the social media platform on Monday showed that the former couple, who had previously unfollowed each other following their highly publicised separation, have now restored their online connection.
The development has generated reactions among fans and entertainment followers, with some speculating that the former couple could be making efforts to mend their relationship privately.
However, neither 2Baba nor Annie has publicly confirmed that they are working towards reconciliation or made any announcement regarding the status of their relationship.
The latest development comes more than a year after 2Baba announced in January 2025 that his marriage to Annie had ended and that the pair were heading for divorce.
Although the initial announcement was later deleted amid claims that his account had been compromised, 2Baba subsequently confirmed that he was responsible for the post.
Following their separation, 2Baba went on to marry Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru, seemingly bringing his marriage to Annie to an end at the time.
However, the singer recently found himself at the centre of renewed relationship controversy following reports of a marital crisis involving Natasha and an alleged confrontation at a nightclub in Abuja.
According to reports, Natasha allegedly appeared at Faze’s grand opening event at 90s Lounge, where 2Baba was scheduled to perform.
A senior member of 2Baba’s management team reportedly confirmed that a confrontation occurred at the venue. The source alleged that Natasha arrived with security personnel and other men who attempted to take the singer away.
The incident reportedly created tension between the two sides before escalating into a confrontation involving 2Baba and members of his team.
The management source also claimed that 2Baba and Natasha had been living separately for more than two months.
Addressing the nightclub incident during his performance at Daddy Showkey’s 50 Years on Stage concert on Sunday, 2Baba said in Pidgin English that he had decided to stay away from trouble.
When a fan interpreted his comments as a sign of love, the singer dismissed the suggestion.
Meanwhile, the relationship between 2Baba and Annie has remained one of the most widely discussed celebrity romances in Nigeria.
Their relationship gained significant public attention in 2004 when Annie featured as the leading lady in 2Baba’s hit music video, “African Queen.”
After years of an on-and-off relationship, the pair eventually got married in 2013, holding elaborate wedding ceremonies in Akwa Ibom State and Dubai.
The couple later renewed their wedding vows in 2023 to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary.
Despite their long history together, 2Baba and Annie eventually went their separate ways, making their latest Instagram reconnection a subject of renewed public interest.
