Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has declared his support for President Bola Tinubu, urging Nigerians to give the President more time to implement his policies and deliver on his reform agenda.
Speaking during an interview with Western Spring TV, Adeleke said his support is influenced by the principle of power rotation between the North and the South, which he described as an important factor in maintaining political balance in the country.
According to the governor, there is a long-standing political understanding that leadership should alternate between the two regions to promote fairness and national unity.
Adeleke argued that a single four-year term may not be sufficient for President Tinubu to fully execute his programmes and reforms, stressing that more time is needed for the policies to take root and produce meaningful results.
The governor also highlighted the Federal Government’s efforts in disbursing funds to state governments, noting that the responsibility now lies with state administrations to ensure the resources are properly utilized for development and the welfare of citizens.
“I am supporting Tinubu because he has roots in Osun State, and because it is the turn of the South. Nigerians should give him the opportunity to continue implementing his reforms. He has also ensured the release of funds to state governments to drive development across the country,” Adeleke said.
He maintained that effective management of federal allocations by state governments remains crucial, especially amid prevailing economic challenges facing the nation.
