The family and friends of the late banking executive Herbert Wigwe recently gathered in Lagos to celebrate the traditional wedding of his eldest daughter, Otutochi “Tochi” Wigwe, to her partner, Wilson Omogbale Aikhomu.
The private ceremony brought both families together in a celebration of love and Nigerian cultural heritage. Traditional marriage rites were observed, including the payment of the bride price, signing of family documents, and the formal presentation of the bride to her husband’s family.
The groom, Wilson Aikhomu, is a Lagos-based investment professional and managing partner and chief investment officer of Zoya Admiralty. He is the son of the late Rear Admiral Joseph Omozuwa Aikhomu and nephew of former Chief of General Staff, Admiral Augustus Aikhomu. Wilson was also reportedly a close friend of Tochi’s late brother, Chizi.
The wedding represents a significant milestone for 28-year-old Tochi, who currently leads the HOW Foundation, an organization established in honor of her late father.
Tochi suffered a devastating family loss in February 2024 when her father, Herbert Wigwe, her mother, Chizoba, and her older brother, Chizi, died in a helicopter crash in California on February 9, 2024.
Despite the painful family tragedy, Tochi’s marriage marks the beginning of a new chapter in her personal life, surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones.
