A middle-aged woman identified as Mrs. Chioma Ogu, was on Monday, March 2, killed after a truck loaded with chippings rammed into her residential building located at Iho in Ikeduru local government area of Imo state.
The husband of the deceased also suffered serious injuries and is currently lying critically ill in the hospital. Residents in the area say the deceased mother of three was preparing for her late mother’s burial this weekend when the tragic incident happened.
The truck driver was allegedly sleeping when he lost control, veered off the road and consequently crashed into the building.
According to the residents, the incident occurred late Monday night, when residents of the area had already settled in their homes, and some already sleeping.
The state police command is yet to comment on the tragic incident.
