Nigerian singer Adebayo Adeleke, popularly known as B-Red, has reportedly escaped a suspected assassination attempt in Osogbo, Osun State.
The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon around the Oke-Fia area, near the Osun State Government House. According to B-Red, he was trailed and pursued by a group of suspected hoodlums while moving through the area.
The singer explained that the situation began after he stepped out to buy items at Alekuwodo Market. While at a traffic point under the Okefia Bridge, some motorcycle riders wearing AMBO caps allegedly attempted to surround his vehicle.
As he tried to leave, a white Toyota Venza reportedly joined the pursuit. The situation escalated as both the car and the motorcycles chased his jeep, repeatedly attempting to block his path.
The chase continued until B-Red managed to reach the gate of the Osun State Government House, where he found safety.
He further claimed to have recognized one of the individuals involved, identifying the person as Asiri Eniba, whom he described as a known political thug.
The matter has since been reported to the police, with authorities confirming that an investigation is underway.
Reacting to the incident, the Osun State Government called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of those responsible. The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, urged security agencies to take swift action.
