Popular Yoruba Nollywood actress Biola Fowoshere has opened up about the emotional trauma she endured after her ex-husband walked away from their marriage.
Speaking during an interview on African A List, the actress revealed that her former husband abandoned her and their children despite, according to her, having done nothing wrong in the marriage.
An emotional Biola broke down in tears as she recalled the painful experience, saying her ex-husband remains the one person she would like to confront and ask why he left his family.
The actress disclosed that the separation plunged her into severe depression, forcing her to spend one year and six months in the hospital while battling the condition.
She said the emotional pain nearly cost her her sanity and revealed that she and her children have had no contact with her ex-husband for the past seven years after he allegedly blocked them.
According to Biola, she still struggles to understand why her family was abandoned.
“The only person I’d really want to ask a question is my ex-husband. I’d really like to ask him what I did wrong because I did nothing before he left me and the kids. I want to ask what my children and I did to deserve what he did to us,” she said.
She added:
“I spent one year and six months in the hospital battling depression after he left. I almost ran mad. We are not in contact. Since he left, we haven’t seen him. He blocked us seven years ago.”
