President Bola Tinubu has called on judges and judicial officers across the country to ensure that the courts remain a dependable source of justice for ordinary Nigerians.

The President made the appeal on Monday during the commissioning of the newly completed Court of Appeal Abuja Division complex as part of activities marking the third anniversary of his administration.

Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Tinubu emphasized the need for timely and impartial justice, urging judicial officers to remain unbiased regardless of social status or influence.

He stressed that Nigerians expect the judiciary to serve as a genuine last resort for justice, noting that court decisions should promote national unity and strengthen democracy.

According to him, the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda goes beyond rhetoric, focusing on restoring the integrity of key institutions, including the judiciary, education, healthcare, power, and infrastructure sectors.

Tinubu stated that ongoing judicial reforms are aimed at enhancing governance, reinforcing the rule of law, and creating a fairer society. He also commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for supporting the policy through the construction of roads, judges’ residences, and investments in legal education.

Acknowledging the heavy workload handled by the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal, particularly election petitions and major trials, the President said judicial officers deserve facilities that reflect the importance of their responsibilities.

He assured members of the judiciary that his administration would continue to provide a conducive working environment to enable them to effectively discharge their duties.
