JUST IN : IPOB Insists February 2 Sit-at-Home Will Proceed Biafra Says

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has reaffirmed that the planned sit-at-home for Monday, February 2, 2026, will go ahead as scheduled.

The position was stated in a release by IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, who said no government led by the All Progressives Congress (APC) would halt the action.

Powerful urged Biafrans to remain vigilant, disregard what he described as false information, and comply fully with the sit-at-home directive. He warned against individuals he alleged were agents of the APC posing as close associates of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, to mislead the public.

According to him, these individuals attempted to spread claims that he had resigned or did not exist, a move he said failed. He alleged that the same persons later contacted him directly, urging him to call off the February 2 sit-at-home, which he refused.

In the statement, IPOB said it would expose anyone impersonating its members or leadership. It further claimed that Ifeanyi Ejiofor no longer represents Nnamdi Kanu or IPOB, stating that he was removed from that role over two years ago.

Powerful also accused certain individuals within the group’s Directorate of State (DOS) of compromising the struggle, alleging that they held meetings with Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo, to weaken solidarity efforts in support of Kanu, particularly among traders at the Onitsha Main Market.

He dismissed reports of his alleged resignation as fake and fabricated, insisting that recent communications with members of the DOS proved he remains active. He challenged those questioning his existence to explain who they had been communicating with.

The statement further alleged that anti-Biafra elements had infiltrated online platforms, using the names of IPOB, its spokesperson, and the DOS to confuse the public. These actors, he said, do not represent Nnamdi Kanu or IPOB and would eventually be exposed.

Powerful announced plans to appear on radio, television, and other media platforms from today through Monday morning to address the issues and counter what he described as deliberate misinformation.

He concluded by reiterating IPOB’s directive, advising Biafrans to ignore false narratives and observe the sit-at-home order on Monday, February 2, 2026.
