Reality TV personality Phyna has revealed why she dislikes the name her parents gave her at birth, describing it as a “curse.”
Speaking during an interview with Ezinne Akudo on the show Beyond With Ezinne, the former Big Brother Naija winner said her birth name is Blessing, but she grew to resent it because her life experiences did not reflect what the name represents.
Phyna explained that her childhood was filled with hardship and emotional struggles. According to her, she often felt she had to seek love and acceptance from people around her, including family members, friends, and romantic partners.
She said the constant difficulties she faced made her feel the name “Blessing” did not align with her reality while growing up.
The reality star also spoke about the emotional pain she endured after losing her sister, noting that the grief deeply affected her. She added that despite the tough experiences and negative comments from people, she always believed she would one day achieve success.
Phyna said the series of challenges she survived ultimately strengthened her faith and made her believe that God has been guiding her through life.
