Kenneth Okonkwo: ‘I No Longer Take Peter Obi Seriously’
A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kenneth Okonkwo, has stated that he no longer considers former presidential candidate Peter Obi as serious or politically relevant following his recent move to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Okonkwo dismissed concerns that Obi’s defection could impact the ADC’s political strength ahead of the 2027 elections. He argued that the party remains focused and confident of victory.
Okonkwo criticised Obi for frequently switching political parties, alleging that he has changed affiliations three times within six months. According to him, if not for restrictions in Nigeria’s Electoral Act, Obi might have moved to yet another party.
