In their heartfelt message, they wrote:
“With broken hearts, we share the devastating news that our baby boy passed away during pregnancy.
“Thank you for your love and support.”
They also paid tribute to their son by writing:
“Elijah Raphael Gakpo. Forever loved. Forever our son.”
Following the announcement, an outpouring of condolences came from fans, teammates, and members of the football community, who expressed their support for the grieving family.
