Davido Says He Would Charge $500,000 Per Show for Joint Tour With Wizkid

SNOW TV NEWS DESK
Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has expressed confidence that a joint international tour with fellow singer Wizkid would attract massive audiences, revealing that he would demand $500,000 for each performance.

Davido made this known during an appearance on the IONWANNATALK show, where he discussed the possibility of collaborating musically and embarking on a tour with Wizkid.

The singer, however, expressed uncertainty about whether a joint record between them would become a commercial success. He referenced the collaboration between D’banj and 2Baba, which he said did not achieve the expected impact.

“If Wizkid and I do a song together, I don’t know if it will pop,” he stated.

Despite his reservations about their musical collaboration, Davido was confident that a joint tour would be a major commercial success.

“If we tour together, I’ll ask for $500,000 per show because I know every venue will sell out,” he said.

The award-winning singer also disclosed that he and Wizkid had not recorded a song together in approximately 10 years. He explained that their lack of collaboration was not necessarily due to an inability to work together but because they had not been in the same mental space.

Davido further addressed their long-standing rivalry, noting that opinions differ on whether their competition has contributed to their individual success or whether a collaboration could take their careers to greater heights.

He also spoke about personal growth and reconciliation, maintaining that maturity involves recognizing when one’s feelings or opinions about another person have changed.

SNOW TV EDITORIAL ANALYSIS
Davido’s comments have once again brought attention to the commercial strength of Nigeria’s two biggest Afrobeats stars. A joint tour involving both artists would undoubtedly generate considerable excitement among fans, potentially attracting international audiences and strengthening Afrobeats’ global influence.

Beyond the financial implications, such a tour could demonstrate the power of collaboration over rivalry. However, its success would depend on proper organization, scheduling, and the willingness of both artists to work together.

Ultimately, fans may be more interested in seeing Davido and Wizkid share the stage than hearing another exchange of competitive remarks. A successful partnership could become one of the biggest moments in Afrobeats history.
