Woman Behind Kano ‘Underwear Campaign’ Gets Political Appointment {VIDEO}

Fatima Naseer Teemahcool, leader of the Gida-Gida TikTokers group who recently drew attention for organising a controversial underwear display during a visit by Nigeria’s First Lady, Remi Tinubu, to Kano State, has been appointed to a political position.

According to reports, she was named Officer in Charge of Women Affairs by the Chairman of Nassarawa Local Government, Yusuf Imam Ogan Boye. The appointment was confirmed in a letter signed by the council secretary, Ado Mohammed Hotoro.

The letter stated that her selection was based on her contributions and dedication to the development of the local government, urging her to carry out her responsibilities in line with established regulations.

Teemahcool, a known figure in Kano’s political and social space, gained nationwide attention after leading a controversial display involving underwear, reportedly aimed at mocking former Kano State governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Following widespread criticism, she later issued an apology, pledging not to repeat such actions.

Meanwhile, Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has distanced himself from the incident, stating that he neither approved nor had prior knowledge of the display.

He also condemned the act, describing it as contrary to the cultural and religious values of the people of Kano State.
