A lawyer and Special Assistant to Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, Lucky Chukwu, has died. His death was announced in October 2026 by the office of his younger brother, Senator Kelvin Chukwu, who represents Enugu East Senatorial District. Lucky Chukwu was an elder brother of the late Labour Party senatorial candidate, Oyibo Chukwu, and Senator Kelvin Chukwu, a former member of the Enugu State House of Assembly. Kenyan presidential candidate Patrick Osoi has warned Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote against rushing to establish a refinery in Kenya, saying his administration would prioritise local businesses. Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has emerged overall champion of the 15th West African University Games, winning 122 medals, according to the official medal table shared on the Games’ social media handles on Sunday. The host institution won 33 gold, 50 silver and 39 bronze medals to finish ahead of the University of Ghana, which secured second position with 59 medals, comprising 26 gold, 21 silver and 12 bronze.
