A video showing the moment Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde, refused to kiss his wife at a public function, has made the rounds on social media. The governor and his wife were at the dinner and award night organized to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the state held on Wednesday, February 5, when the compere of the event asked the wife to plant a kiss on the governor in full glare of all those attending the event. Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has once again informed the public that he will mark his birthday quietly, without any form of celebration. Naija News reports that the governor made this known in a statement issued on Wednesday in Ilorin by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye. According to the statement, Abdulrazaq said the decision to forgo birthday celebrations has been his personal choice since he assumed office as governor in 2019. He added that he has not authorised any activities or events to mark the occasion. “The Governor, like every servant of God, remains deeply thankful to his Creator and Sustainer for the gift of life, good health, and countless blessings,” the statement said.
