Burna Boy’s Songs Temporarily Banned Following Reported Clash With DJ Tunez

The Nigerian DJ Association has announced a temporary ban on songs by Grammy-winning Afrobeats artist Burna Boy, instructing disc jockeys in Nigeria and abroad to remove his music from their playlists.

The move comes after a reported altercation between Burna Boy and popular DJ DJ Tunez at a private Lagos event. According to reports, the disagreement escalated into a physical scuffle inside a nightclub, with multiple people involved and DJ Tunez reportedly assaulted.

In response, the Nigerian DJ Association released a statement on Instagram Tuesday, expressing solidarity with DJ Tunez and urging members to avoid playing Burna Boy’s tracks until further notice.

“Burna Boy’s music is temporarily excluded from all DJ playlists pending a full investigation into the incident involving our member, DJ Tunez,” the statement read.

The association emphasized professionalism, fairness, and unity within the entertainment industry, stressing the importance of treating all DJs with dignity.

“Here at NigerianDJ, we stand by the principle that all DJs are equal, and we remain committed to supporting our members and clients in achieving their goals,” the statement added. It also called on members to reject discrimination and uphold values of equality and respect:

“Freedom and equality for all DJs nationwide is essential for collective success. We oppose any form of discrimination against our members,” the release noted.

As of this report, neither Burna Boy nor his management team has commented on the alleged incident or the association’s decision.
