Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State on Thursday met with members of the House of Representatives from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
The meeting comes amid growing indications that the governor may be concluding plans to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling APC.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, an unnamed member of the Bauchi House of Representatives, who addressed the press alongside the governor, said the lawmakers were invited to deliberate on ongoing political realignments both nationwide and within the state.
According to him, the discussions focused on recent political developments, adding that a resolution had been reached. He noted that the group would soon make its position public.
Earlier, Mohammed, alongside a senior PDP figure, also held consultations with stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as he weighs his political options ahead of the upcoming elections.
