ADC Not Ready for Elections, Members Eyeing Presidency – Bwala

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has stated that members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are not adequately prepared for the forthcoming elections.

Bwala made the assertion while criticising opposition figures within the party, accusing them of internal division and a lack of electoral readiness.

Responding to allegations that Tinubu is steering Nigeria toward a one-party system, Bwala claimed ADC members were attempting to bring foreign influence into the country’s electoral process.

In a post shared on X, he said the opposition figures within the ADC are aware of their lack of preparedness, stressing that many of them are more focused on personal presidential ambitions than party unity.

He further argued that claims of a one-party agenda are being exaggerated to attract foreign attention, despite the presence of international diplomatic missions in Nigeria that can assess the political situation firsthand.

His remarks come after Peter Obi, a prominent ADC figure, accused Tinubu of pushing Nigeria toward a one-party state.

Meanwhile, during an ADC protest at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the deregistration of a faction led by David Mark, Rotimi Amaechi maintained that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would be defeated in the 2027 elections, despite alleged efforts to undermine democracy.
