The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has cautioned the public over a viral post falsely claiming that Nigerian skit maker Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, has been declared wanted.
The misleading poster, which bore the EFCC logo, alleged that Sabinus was being sought for obtaining money under false pretence and even included a supposed address in Victoria Island, Lagos.
However, the anti-graft agency dismissed the claim via its official 𝕏 handle, clearly labelling the poster as fake.
“Clout chaser, stop this now!” the EFCC stated, urging the public to disregard the false information.
Meanwhile, the commission also addressed concerns over its inaction regarding Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, following controversy surrounding her cancer claims and fundraising.
The agency explained that it has yet to receive a formal petition against her, noting that a valid complaint is required before any investigation or legal action can commence.
