Elsie Okpocha, the former wife of comedian Basketmouth, has warned of legal action against individuals and blogs spreading false claims about her marriage.
The couple, who married in November 2010, separated in December 2022, with Basketmouth stating at the time that the decision was mutual.
Recent online reports alleged that paternity fraud involving their first child led to the breakup, but Elsie has strongly denied the claims.
Through her legal representatives, she described the allegations as false and baseless, cautioning against further circulation. She also threatened to sue anyone found guilty of defamation or invasion of privacy.
Elsie further expressed concern over the emotional impact such rumours could have on her child, warning that the misinformation could lead to bullying and psychological distress.
