Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure victory in the 2027 presidential election, despite ongoing efforts by opposition groups to form a coalition.
Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Okpebholo questioned the credibility of key opposition figures, including Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi, arguing that they have previously fallen short in delivering for the country.
He maintained that Tinubu’s policies and achievements have already begun to make a positive impact, which he believes will earn him a second term in office.
“Tinubu has made significant strides in this country, and his performance will speak for him in the next election,” he said.
The governor also attributed Nigeria’s security challenges to what he described as “evil elements,” alleging that such groups are being used to undermine the current administration.
According to him, opposition figures are exploiting insecurity to create the impression that the government is underperforming.
“Tinubu will win. Who among those contesting can do better than him?” he asked, insisting that the President remains the strongest candidate ahead of the 2027 polls.
