A 30-year-old politician and grassroots mobiliser, Mahmud Sadis Buba, has declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Sabon Gari Federal Constituency of Kaduna State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Buba, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), announced his ambition after obtaining the party’s Expression of Interest and nomination forms.

The aspirant disclosed this in a post on his verified Facebook page.

According to Buba, his decision to join the race was driven by a desire to provide purposeful representation and inclusive development for the people of Sabon Gari.

“Today, I humbly announce that I have obtained my nomination form to contest for the House of Representatives, Sabon Gari Federal Constituency,” he wrote.

From my beginnings as a driver to this moment, my journey has been built on hard work, resilience, and the belief that every individual, no matter their background, can rise to serve.”

Born on August 2, 1995, Buba hails from Sabon Gari in Zaria, Kaduna State.

Before venturing fully into politics, he worked as a driver, a background that has shaped his political message around grassroots inclusion and equal opportunity.

He currently serves as chairman of the “Tinubu–Uba Sani Agenda ’27” support group and has become increasingly active within APC political circles in Kaduna State.

Over the years, Buba has been seen alongside key political figures including President Bola Tinubu, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Bello El-Rufai, and Seyi Tinubu.

As part of his consultations, he has also presented his nomination forms to Akpabio, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and other APC leaders.

In his campaign message, Buba pledged to focus on honest and people-oriented representation if elected into the National Assembly.

“I am stepping forward with a clear vision: to represent the people of Sabon Gari with honesty, dedication, and true leadership,” he stated.

Your voice will be heard, your concerns will matter, and together we will work towards real development and opportunities for all.”

He added that his campaign was about collective progress and unity within the constituency.

The aspiration has attracted reactions from political stakeholders, including former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani.

In a post on his verified X handle, Sani described Buba’s ambition as an inspiration to young Nigerians.

Hon Mahmud Sadis Buba is 30 years old. He bought his form to vie for the Reps seat in Zaria. A challenge to the youth,” he wrote.

Buba said Vice President Shettima offered him prayers and encouragement during a recent meeting.

According to him, the support has strengthened his commitment to the race.

If elected in 2027, Buba would become one of the youngest lawmakers in the National Assembly and could also make history as the shortest person to serve in the Nigerian parliament.
