Popular Nigerian music video director ThankGod Smith Omori, widely known as TG Omori, has opened up about his prolonged struggle with kidney disease, describing the experience as one of the most difficult anyone can face.
According to reports, Omori has been battling the illness for several months, spending extended periods in and out of the hospital as his health condition fluctuates. In August 2024, he underwent a kidney transplant in hopes of recovery, but the procedure was unsuccessful.
Since then, his journey has involved continuous medical treatments and frequent hospital visits. Reflecting on the ordeal, Omori said kidney disease takes a severe toll both physically and financially, noting that survival depends on constant medical attention and pain management.
He explained that the cost of treatment can be overwhelming, often running into millions, and many patients lose their lives because they are unable to endure the pain or afford proper care. According to him, when faced with such an illness, money loses its usual meaning as every available resource is spent just to stay alive.
Despite the challenges, TG Omori expressed deep gratitude for being alive, attributing his survival to resilience, support, and grace as he continues to fight the disease.
